A light in the darkness

 This poem was written by me one year ago, and I think it really relates to the ongoing pandemic. The poem is short and, I don't think I can call it completely straight forward, but it is an easy read and you can understand it after reading it just once. The reason that I am sharing this particular poem which was written by the 10-year-old me is that I want all those who are in the depths of despair, or in a hard situation. Remember that there is always light in the darkness, always a way out. you might say that this is life and not a fairy tale where there is a miraculous way out. But you are very, very wrong. As the saying goes: happiness isn't just an emotion, it's also a choice. you need to CHOOSE to find that happiness. and once you do, I am not saying you are going to go from miserable to happy in a moment. it will take some time but eventually, you will heal! How I think schools around the world have addressed learning during the pandemic.

When I signed up for an elocution competition that was being held in my school, My first thought was that the topic would be around the lines of online learning. Though what I predicted came true, the way they phrased the topic made me think a bit more. Honestly, I thought it would be easy to think about online learning and how I have experienced it. But, again the way they phrased it changed my perspective of the topic. The topic was:  How do you think schools around the world have addressed learning during the pandemic.   My expectation was that it would be about my experience, but the topic asked me about what I think about how schools have addressed learning during the pandemic. The fact that they were giving us 11 and 12-year-olds the opportunity to express our opinions on such a worldly matter, left me pleasantly surprised.
